Re-engineered trommel

Re-engineered trommel
Designed for high volume pre-screening and speciality compost-ing operations, the largest portable trommel in the line of screening equipment from McCloskey International has been extensively re-engineered to utilize the company’s patented Drum X-Change System. By replacing the trommel’s chain drive with the Drum X-Change System’s wheel drive, the new 4x4 733 Trom-mel eliminates costly service requirements from the equipment while achieving significant improvements in the productivity and flexibility of the trommel.

The Drum X-Change System, as originally developed by McCloskey, utilizes a wheel-drive in place of traditional chain drives. This allows very quick changes of the screening drum. Instead of taking the trommel out of service for days at a time to change drums, the Drum X-Change System allows operators to simply lift out one drum and drop in another. One or two operators working with a wheel loader or excavator are able to complete the switch in just an hour or two, often less. As a result, changing screens to suit different applications and products becomes a far more practical, and much less costly, undertaking. The McCloskey 4x4 733 Trommel is now the largest trommel on the market to offer a “quick-change” feature.
