TG5000 tub grinder latest in line

Vermeer Manufacturing Company has introduced their all-new TG5000 tub grinder. The TG5000 packages innovation and technology for large land-clearing projects and organic wood/waste processing applications. Units use one of two CAT six-cylinder, turbo-charged, Tier III diesel engines, either 540 hp (402 kW) or 440 hp (328 kW), and an extra large cooling system with a high capacity radiator allows for longer hours of work on demanding jobsites. Loading of large volumes of material is simplified with a 60-inch (152 cm) deep and 12-foot (374 cm) wide tub opening. The bottom of the tub flares outward from the tub wall, allowing the hammermill to cut under the vertical wall of the tub, helping to reduce bridging and permitting steady feeding of material. Four tub wall agitators also move material to help reduce bridging and increase production. Tub rotation is driven by a low-speed, high-torque, hydraulic motor and positive chain drive for greater durability. Other key features on the TG5000 include: Vermeer’s Duplex Drum equipped with eight angled hammers, cutting 16 radial paths, for full-face cutting coverage up against the vertical tub wall; reversible hammers, cutters and drum; low maintenance; a patented Thrown Object Restraint System combining a tub cover and a rotor deflector; push-button clutch engagement; a hydraulically-actuated dry or wet clutch; no need for clutch adjustment; single, continuous flow, 36-inch discharge belt; and a wide variety of options.
