Orion 1400 trommel features high capacity, fast setup
The high capacity Powerscreen Orion 1400 trommel typically sets up in 15 minutes and is designed to provide high mobility with heavy duty, low ground pressure crawler tracks. A wheeled undercarriage is available, and applications include topsoil, recycling, wood chips and compost.
Hopper length is over 12 feet, capacity is 5.65 cubic yards, and a 14-foot by fi ve-foot drum has 169.4 square foot of screening area and variable speed control to 24.5 rpm. A friction four-wheel drum drive system with reversible operation is also included to “rock” the barrel, and a hydraulically folding trommel door allows for quick drum removal. Other key features include: an adjustable screen angle from fl at to four degrees; a standard, removable, heavy-duty pendant remote control system or optional radio control; a reversible, direct-drive, 36-inch feed conveyor with hydraulic “kick-out” to prevent barrel stalling; additional conveyors for 48-inch collection, 32-inch oversize, 28-inch transfer and 32-inch fi nes; a Caterpillar 3054C DINA or DIT power plant.
