New line of milling equipment

Ingersoll-Rand Company recently entered into the milling machine market with the introduction of the MT-2000, a half-lane, 600 hp model, and the model MW-500 (shown). The MW-500 is a four-wheel, rear-loading, utility-class milling machine that offers a standard cutting width of 20 inches (500 mm). A 125-hp Deutz diesel engine powers these units, and power is transferred via an automatically tensioned belt drive. An independently-driven cooling fan is designed to ensure trouble-free operation even at high ambient temperatures, and automatically switches on and off for reduced noise and fuel consumption.
The four-wheel MW-500 has an extremely tight cutting radius of seven inches (175 mm), and the right rear support leg and wheel can be swivelled inboard for fl ush cutting. Units offer all-wheel-drive, easy serviceability, spacious operator’s cabin, and feature Anti-slip Control as well as automatic depth control and an integrated levelling system. Also included on these models is a patented Line Manager system that works in conjunction with the ASC to allow the operator to maintain a constant speed of operation and direction of travel without being adversely affected by the rotation of the milling drum.
