Roll-off hoist

With faster cycle times

Roll-off hoist
DuaLift and KwikLift 60,000-pound rated roll-off hoists are designed to deliver very fast loading and unloading times due to a new, unique travelling carriage design.

The basic hoist is the KwikLift, with front hold-downs and a single cable sheave attached to the carriage, which travels the entire length of the hoist, powered by a seven-inch telescopic cylinder. Every foot of carriage travel develops two feet of cable movement, extending or retracting, causing rapid container movement. The result is increased power and speed throughout the operation of the hoist. Loading and unloading times are about half that of traditional roll-off hoists. Cycling the carriage back and forth with the hoist raised results in rapid container movement to help shake loose stubborn loads, a feature not found on any other roll-off hoist.

Adding the hooklift feature to the carriage creates the DuaLift model, which can service all hooklift containers as well as cable type containers. Hooklift containers vary with three hook heights and variable lengths. The DuaLift is designed to service all hooklift containers regardless of hook height or container length.

Switching the DuaLift between hooklift and cable lift operation can be done very quickly on a route. By servicing mixed routes with one truck, the efficiency in certain operations can result in extra loads hauled daily or weekly.

The travelling carriage can also power containers rearward. This feature has two significant benefits. With the hoist in the horizontal position, the carriage can push a container on to a trailer quickly. Using pup trailers, for example, means more productive trips to the landfill or transfer station, while reducing capital requirements. Secondly, heavy loads in short containers can be transported with the container moved all the way forward on the hoist, improving weight distribution. At the site, the heavy container is powered rearward before raising the hoist, which eliminates the hauler’s need for 75,000 pound lift cylinders.
