ACE Recycling & Disposal adds electric McNeilus Volterra to collection fleet
The new collection vehicle will increase safety and collection speed on routes while reducing emissions

ACE Recycling & Disposal, a refuse and collection provider serving more than one million people each week across Utah and Wyoming, has added its first McNeilus Volterra ZSL electric side loader refuse collection vehicle to its fleet. Sold through Siddons-Martin Environmental Group, the vehicle marks an opportunity for the collection provider to expand its sustainability and operational efficiency while providing its drivers with advanced technology focused on safety and comfort.
The McNeilus Volterra ZSL electric refuse collection vehicle (eRCV) combines a purpose-built electric platform with advanced refuse collection technology to help recyclers reduce emissions while maintaining the performance required for demanding residential collection routes.
"Forward-thinking customers like ACE Recycling & Disposal are helping shape the future of refuse and recycling collection by investing in innovative technologies that support their operations today while preparing for tomorrow," said Lee Dreas, president of McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing. "The McNeilus Volterra ZSL was designed from the ground up to deliver an exceptional driver experience, dependable all-day performance, and the sustainability benefits fleets are seeking. We're proud to partner with Siddons-Martin Environmental Group to bring this vehicle to ACE."
After evaluating several electric refuse collection vehicles, ACE Recycling & Disposal selected the McNeilus Volterra ZSL following a demonstration that highlighted the vehicle's battery performance, advanced safety technologies, and driver-focused design.
"We're always looking for ways to operate more sustainably while improving efficiency across our fleet," said Isaac Leituala, general manager of ACE Recycling & Disposal. "After evaluating several electric refuse collection vehicles, we were impressed by the Volterra ZSL's battery life and the overall driver experience. Our drivers especially appreciated the 360-degree camera system, and we're excited to continue to see the long-term operational and cost benefits as we integrate the truck into our fleet."
