New plug-and-play metal baler from Lindemann automates baling cycles
The hydraulic system delivers high-pressure forces to maximize material density for easy transportation

Lindemann Metal Recycling's NxtPress is a high-performance scrap metal baler engineered to deliver consistent, energy-efficient processing across a wide range of materials.
Features of the NxtPress scrap metal baler
Designed to meet the demands of modern recycling operations, the NxtPress combines advanced control technology with robust construction. Capable of handling both ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, the baler produces dense, uniform bales that support efficient transport, storage, and downstream processing.
At the heart of the NxtPress is an optimized hydraulic system that delivers high pressing forces with improved energy efficiency. Automated baling cycles ensure consistent output, while the machine's two-stage compression process produces highly compacted bales, maximizing material density and value.
"With the NxtPress, we are focused on helping customers achieve greater efficiency across their entire operation," said Alexander Zinn, director of Global Sales & Marketing of Lindemann Metal Recycling.
"By combining high pressing forces with intelligent control and energy-efficient hydraulics, the machine delivers consistent, high-quality bales while lowering operating costs. It is designed to support higher throughput, improved logistics, and long-term productivity in today's demanding recycling environments. The NxtPress was developed based on extensive customer feedback and requests, ensuring that it directly addresses the specific challenges and needs of the industry."
Produce dense, transport-efficient bales
A hydraulically driven lid securely encloses the press box during operation, cutting oversized material and enabling optimal compression. This system contributes to smoother processing and improved bale quality, particularly when handling mixed or irregular scrap streams.
The NxtPress is designed with operational efficiency in mind; its features increase plant throughput while streamlining internal logistics. By reducing cycle times and lowering energy consumption, operators can achieve more efficient processing and reduced operating costs.
Durability and ease of maintenance are central to the NxtPress design. Heavy-duty components and wear-resistant materials ensure long service life, while central lubrication and simplified maintenance requirements minimize downtime and support machine availability.
The NxtPress is delivered as a ‘plug-and-play' system, with a monoblock design that enables fast transport, installation, and commissioning. Minimal foundation requirements simplify integration into existing facilities, allowing operators to quickly begin production.
The machine is also compatible with Lindemann's digital platform, myLINDEMANN, enabling remote monitoring, diagnostics, and predictive maintenance. This provides operators with better visibility and control over performance, helping support long-term operational efficiency. And optional features — including a mobile upgrade — enhance flexibility, allowing the NxtPress to adapt to evolving yard requirements and processing strategies.
Bale sizes range from 300×300 mm to 400×400 mm and cycle times between 46 and 55 seconds. These size ranges, combined with drive power options from 110 to 220 kW, result in the NxtPress delivering a powerful combination of performance, efficiency, and reliability.
