Max-AI partners with Danieli to progress robotic scrap sorting and intelligent metal recycling
Complete recycling solutions for ferrous and non-ferrous metals will support cleaner, safer, and more efficient recycling

Max-AI, part of the Bulk Handling Systems (BHS) Group, and Danieli Centro Recycling have signed a strategic partnership agreement that marks a significant step forward in the automation of the global metal recycling industry.
Max-AI technology, based on proprietary artificial intelligence and computer vision devices, enables real-time identification and separation of contaminants from metal scrap streams. Integrated into Danieli shredding and processing lines, these robotic systems increase material recovery rates, improve scrap purity, and reduce manual handling.
Innovation and continued development
The partnership focuses on ongoing research and development of new automation technologies and AI for the metal industry. Through close collaboration, both companies aim to accelerate the introduction of advanced robotic and AI-driven systems that enhance efficiency, safety, and material recovery in the metal recycling sector.
"Automation in the metal industry has advanced rapidly in recent decades, and robotic sorting is becoming indispensable," said Steve Miller, CEO of Bulk Handling Systems. "Max-AI was founded in 2015 to meet the growing demand for intelligent automation in recycling. By joining forces with Danieli, we combine our technological expertise with Danieli's deep understanding and strong presence in the metal market, enabling us to offer customers a unique, next-generation automation solution."
