World premiere of Herbold’s mechanical dryer for PET and rigid flakes at K-Show 2025
Visitors can expect to see more solutions for plastic waste reduction, washing, separating, drying, and agglomeration

Specialist in plastic recycling technology, Herbold Meckesheim, will participate in the upcoming K-Show 2025, in Düsseldorf, Germany. Visitors at the event can expect to see a wide range of innovative solutions for size reduction, washing, separating, drying, and agglomeration of plastic waste.
Highlights at K-Show 2025
One of the key highlights at the booth will be the world debut of the T 150-300 Mechanical Dryer. Engineered for high throughput, this dryer can handle up to 2.5 tons/hour of film or 10 tons/hour of PET and rigid flakes. Its newly redesigned construction includes a rotating sieve basket with integrated spray nozzles for full coverage cleaning and a centrifugal drying chamber for rapid moisture removal. Built-in monitoring systems support predictive maintenance, while the hydraulically hinged housing ensures quick and easy access to internal components, significantly reducing maintenance time and improving operational efficiency.
Also on display will be the SMS 80-200 Granulator, the largest and most powerful unit in the SMS series. Designed for energy-efficient size reduction, it features double cross-cutting action, pre-adjustable rotor and bed knives, and a hinged housing for fast knife changes. The granulator's forced feeding system, powered by three horizontally mounted screws, enables high-throughput processing of PET and rigid plastics, making it ideal for demanding large-scale recycling operations.
The SMS series is optimized for a diverse range of materials, capable of processing everything from standard recyclables to heavy lumps, tough fibers, and thin films with precision and consistency.
In addition to the main booth, attendees can visit the Coperion and Herbold's Recycling Pavilion in the Open Area. It will feature a Herbold Hydrocyclone Separation Stage, a key component designed to deliver precise material separation through centrifugal forces, which can be seen together with a Coperion ZSK FilCo filtration compounder. Herbold's hydrocyclone stage enhances the purification of plastics during recycling, extending the equipment lifespan of downstream equipment and improving product quality.
The Hydrocyclone system provides density separation and accommodates various application needs, providing additional washing and impurity removal. The system includes capabilities for separating residual contaminants such as sand, glass, or metals using heavy medium cyclone technology and high turbulence washing. The system also includes a friction washer, which is capable of removing paper and other fibre contaminants.
