Sierra International Machinery has released the second season of its Repurposed docuseries. Continuing where the first season left off, Sierra will explore the role of the recycled materials industry in the U.S. Through the series, John Sacco, president and co-owner of Sierra, unravels common misconceptions and sheds light on the recycled material industry.
The first season of Repurposed highlighted the recycling operations at Alter Trading Co. and SSAB across four episodes. This season continues with a four-episode lineup where Sierra showcases SA Recycling's ship recycling operation and CMC's sustainable steelmaking processes and advanced technologies.
Each episode will showcase the technological innovations that the recycling industry utilizes to help create a circular economy. But in order to use that technology, a dedicated workforce is needed. That's why Sacco focuses on the culture of the steel and recycled materials industry, highlighting the opportunities it offers, from stable jobs to long-term careers.
