David Biderman has left his role as executive director and CEO of SWANA.
Both SWANA and Biderman agree that it is time for new leadership to guide the association into the future and achieve the goals in our strategic plan.
SWANA will hire an interim executive director/CEO while the search is launched for a permanent executive director/CEO. SWANA hopes to have a candidate selected prior to WASTECON but is not rushing the process.
SWANA's 2023-2027 strategy involves achieving four specific goals.
These goals include getting off the top 10 most dangerous jobs; becoming climate champions; reframing the perception of the industry as employers of choice including engaging young professionals and improving industry conditions through diversity, equity, and inclusion; and strengthening SWANA's communication with chapters and members and its infrastructure and financial viability.
