The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)'s weekly safety newsletter will be available in French starting January 2, 2022. The goal and purpose of Safety Matters is to make relevant safety guidance easily accessible to front-line employees and workers at all levels. Adding a French translation to the English and Spanish versions will expand accessibility to solid waste and recycling workers.
"Delivering safety messages in the language workers are most comfortable with is vitally important," stated Michel Binette, senior director of government relations and business development of Waste Connections of Canada and SWANA's Quebec Chapter Delegate. "By offering Safety Matters in French, SWANA ensures its safety newsletter can reach a larger audience and be even more effective."
