New Product Selector from ALLU allows easier matching of Transformer hydraulic attachment to carriers

Matching material with excavator/loading shovel and the right processing attachment can often be a tricky business. In order to simplify a complicated process, ALLU has developed a unique and interactive product selector which enables customers to match their requirement with the most suitable ALLU Transformer. The ALLU Transformer is a hydraulic attachment for wheel loader, excavator, skid steer or similar equipment. The exciting and extensive range has been developed over many years to effectively make material processors' lives easier and more productive.

The ALLU Transformer means that companies processing soil, sand, rubble and other materials no longer need to bring both a wheel loader/excavator and a crusher on site. Instead, the ALLU Transformer  screens, crushes, pulverizes, aerates, blends, mixes, separates, feeds and loads materials  thereby transforming the materials worked with.

ALLU technology quite literally transforms everything around it making businesses more productive, more environmentally friendly and more profitable. With versatility at its very core, the ALLU Transformer will process just about anything sent its way. This includes materials including construction debris, topsoil, excavated soil and contaminated soil, to clay, peat, bark, compost, bio-waste, milled asphalt, coal, oil shale and limestone.

The ALLU Transformer is technology which redefines the way in which a business works. However, matching material and application to the most suitable ALLU Transformer can be a complicated task. There are many parameters to consider such as the size of the excavator/loading shovel, tonnage to be dealt with, required product size and the end use of the transformed material amongst many other factors.

In order to help you transform your operations we are proud to announce the launch of the New ALLU Product Selector. This, through a portal available on the ALLU website, enables customers to match their base machine to the material they wish to process. When combined with the area of work, this will match the specific application to the most suitable ALLU Transformer.

Canadian Government and the recycling industry have an opportunity to reset objectives and get back to basics on plastics recycling

Canadian Government and the recycling industry have an opportunity to reset objectives and get back to basics on plastics recycling

China's import restrictions and prohibitions on waste continue to disrupt markets around the world, causing a reassessment of entire value and supply chains. For far too long jurisdictions relied on foreign end-markets, and focused mostly on collection and sorting infrastructure without making parallel investments in domestic processing. Relying so heavily on a single market to process materials has made Canada and other nations vulnerable to losing material to disposal.

Ettlinger's ECO melt filters make fines almost one hundred percent recyclable

The fines which are created when PET bottles (left) are recycled contain up to 1.5% solid, gel-like or cross-linked contaminants. By incorporating Ettlinger's ECO high performance melt filters into the extrusion process, these substances can be continuously and almost completely removed from the melt (right).

Shredded and washed flakes are created - along with fines as the second fraction - when non-returnable PET bottles are recycled. These fines occur in large quantities and are hence a significant and valuable part of the PET cycle. However, as an input material they are difficult to handle on account of the very high proportion of paper, aluminum or PVC. The continuously operating, high performance melt filters in the Ettlinger ECO series are capable of removing high quality PET, even from such critical fractions, for subsequent reuse in the manufacture of complex products like clear thermoform sheets or packaging tape.

ISRI advocacy delivers for recyclers in latest tariff measures

As China and the United States continue to spar back and forth with new tariffs being imposed on key imports on goods from each country, the recycling industry has largely been spared. On Friday, the Trump Administration announced a final list of products from China that would be assessed a 25% import duty. Several equipment parts imported from China for use in recycling operations were included on a list of targets earlier this year, but removed after pressure from the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI).

Calgary’s ECCO Recycling successfully integrates commercial single-stream processing into existing C&D MRF footprint

When Calgary-based ECCO Recycling decided to grow its business, it did so by taking on the processing of single stream materials - mixed plastics, paper, OCC, metals, and other materials - from both residential and commercial sources. What made that effort more challenging than most, however, was the decision to add their single-stream processing capability within their existing, high production C&D MRF footprint.
