The Freightliner 108SD offers the power and durability to pick up and haul refuse and recyclables day after day. Units are well suited to roll-off applications and feature a wheel cut up to 50-degrees, depending on wheel equipment, which makes it easy to maneuver down narrow streets.
Plus, 108SD vocational trucks use a steel reinforced, lightweight, aluminum cab and a chassis engineered for weight-optimization and ease of upfit. The cab interior is designed spacious, with ample elbow and leg room, and it includes plenty of ergonomic features for easier operation and to keep crews comfortable and productive on long days.
108SD trucks range up to 79,000 pounds GVW, and feature multiple PTO options. Units use powerful, fuel-efficient Cummins ISB or ISC engines from 200- to 350-hp, and with 520 to 1,000 lb.-ft. of torque. Additionally, and new to these models, is a SmartPlex electrical system that allows for simplified chassis-to-body electrical integration for truck equipment manufacturers.
