Link-Belt X3 series excavators completely redesigned

LBX is introducing five new Link-Belt X3 Series excavators in 2011, beginning in the first quarter with the debut of their 250-, 300- and 350-class machines, which were introduced at ConExpo held in March. Mid-year, the company says a 250 Long-Front and 470-class excavator will be made available. The X3 Series full-sized conventional models have been completely redesigned with an all new ROPS certified cab and interior, new Interim Tier 4A Isuzu engines and up to 10-percent better fuel efficiency, as well as more lift capacity, faster cycle times and improved serviceability.

The advanced, electronically-controlled Isuzu diesel engines on these machines use cooled exhaust gas recirculation and diesel particulate filter technology, and a new variable-geometry turbocharger provides high velocity air flow at lower rpm’s for clean, efficient combustion and power even when performing precision tasks at slower speeds.

Other key features include: an all-new Fuel Management System; an updated hydraulics system that provides gains of up to six percent in lift capacity and up to five-percent faster cycle times over previous models; increased rollover safety and advanced ergonomics; an on-board diagnostic system; and ease of service. Operating weights on these new models range from 25,100 kg (55,336 lbs) to 36,300 kg (80,028 lbs) with horsepower from 132 kW (177 hp) to 198 kW (266 hp).
