Genesis has redesigned their Severe Duty Grapples (GSD). The changes (primarily to the attachment’s pivot group) are meant to enhance durability, reduce wear and increase overall productivity. The GSD’s upper jaw has been lengthened to become an integral part of the pivot group itself, making it more rigid, more durable and far better able to withstand sideways forces.
Other changes include a narrowed gap between the upper and lower jaws, a dramatic reduction in the number of parts, and the addition of brass flange face bushings. GSD Grapples are available in eight models to fit excavators ranging from 24,000 to 280,000 pounds, and are designed for use in demolition, scrap and a range of other applications.
