Solar powered oil skimmer
The Oil Grabber Model 8 uses a solar-power enhancement, which makes the unit portable for use in locations without regular power sources.
The Model 8 provides a continuous belt and wiper to remove up to 40 gallons of oil per hour from a fluid surface. These units use a 12-V motor which runs off a deep-cycle battery, which is recharged by an adjustable solar panel in only a couple of hours. Depending on the characteristics of the liquid, it is possible for the Model 8 solar oil skimmer to reduce oil content to less than five parts per million in water.
