High gradient separator redesigned

These redesigned high gradient separator units have been specially developed for the recycling industry, and are particularly suitable for difficult and dirty work environments. With the redesign, the magnetic value of the coil has been increased to 10,000 Gauss. This allows magnetically weak iron and RFS particles, or slightly magnetized particles such as stainless steel, to be removed from waste and residual streams. Goudsmit’s standard high gradient separator was initially developed for cleaning chrome sand in foundries, as well as the removal of black specks from salt or ceramics. Specially manufactured for the recycling industry, this new High Gradient Separator is available with a swath up to a breadth of 1,500 mm, or larger on request. The complete system consists of a frame, a vibrating chute, a control unit, the high gradient separator and an easily adjustable splitter unit. For even more effective separation, a two-level model (or other custom configurations) can be manufactured. The two-level model consists of two very powerful magnetic rolls of approximately 10,000 Gauss (measured on the surface of the magnetic roll.) The high Gauss value of the high gradient magnetic roll means that normal ferrous particles are attracted with great force. According to Goudsmit, this force of attraction is so strong that belts can be damaged, and a normal magnet should be introduced as a pre-separator.
