Filmgrabber effectively removes foil from flow
Bollegraaf’s patented Filmgrabber is designed to mechanically remove foil from a flow of materials. Foil makes the sorting process more difficult because it often becomes entangled with the other recyclable materials.
The Filmgrabber is a revolving drum with movable spikes. Incoming material flows towards the unit on a conveyor belt and an air system blows the foil slightly upwards. The Filmgrabber spikes pull the foil from the material flow and the remaining material falls below onto a separate conveyor. By removing foil at the beginning of the sorting process, labour costs decrease and quality of output increases. The Filmgrabber removes more than 70 percent of foil larger than A4 from the flow of materials.
