Electrostatic dust suppression system

Electrostatic dust suppression system
With successful installations of over 200 units in Europe, Australia and Africa, Sandvik Mining and Construction’s electrostatic dust suppression system HX410 was introduced this year at CON-EXPO in Las Vegas. An ionization-based system with a dust suppression rate greater than 90 percent, the HX410 is especially effective at transfer points where considerable dust from bulk material is typically released into the air. These units provide a high rate of dust suppression, are easy and quick to install and maintain due to simple, modular construction, and feature energy costs less than 0.5 kW) as well as long life with no moving parts and no wear.

Other key features include minimal material waste, consistency in material properties, low operational costs, and no suction or filters. HX410 technology operates as a high voltage (50-60 kV) and low currency (1.5 mA) system, with power requirements below 0.5 kW, and maintenance time of less than one hour per month. Nearly all dust particles in the range of 0.01 to 300 µm are collected. Standard systems can be installed on conveyors of 400 mm to 1,400 mm belt width, and customized systems can be provided upon request.
