Design changes aid performance

The 110,000-pound (49,894 kg) Terex TC550 compactor features a new on-demand hydraulic steering and blade control system that incorporates upgraded blade lift and steering cylinders to improve machine performance, reduce heat buildup and extend the life of system components. The new cylinder design includes enhancements to the internal piston construction and high pressure O-Ring face seals that improve cylinder reliability as well as provide a better seal between fittings. New, more durable steering cylinder mounting helps to better absorb frame torsion and twisting when compacting the face. Inside the cab, new joysticks deliver more dependable control of the blade, travel direction, steering and working speed range.
