Tarp systems for roll-off trucks

McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing now offers the new Street Smart Tarps (SST) system so waste management operators can save time and money. The SST roll-off tarp system is fully self-contained and operator-friendly. The SST system is simpler and faster to use than a rack-and-pinion system. The two-step operation consists of raising and lowering the tower and pivoting the arms. When the tower raises and lowers, it telescopes the arms to fit various container sizes (10- to 50-yard capacities). As soon as the arms reach the appropriate length, the operator pivots the arms, which automatically lock. Rack-andpinion tarp systems require operators to manually shorten or lengthen the arms. The SST system is driven by a hydraulic pump contained within the system.
