5TH WHEEL TIPPER
Callahan Manufacturing’s line of 5th wheel tippers are designed to turn any trailer into a dump trailer at a low cost, and are an ideal alternative to platform hoists and heavy walking floor and belt trailers. These units are proven in scrap metal and demolition yards, and are also currently in use in applications ranging from vegetables and wood, to refuse and sludge, to bulk sea container cargo. Outriggers with 14 feet from centre to centre make dumping very stable, and units have an excellent safety track record.
The tipper is constructed of T-1 steel with radial corners for extra strength, and comes equipped with four-stage cylinders, built in oil tank, pump filtres, oil lines and a Holland 5th wheel. These units require very little maintenance, and the tipper doesn’t detract from the original line of the truck. It tucks neatly away in its lowered position and doesn’t interfere with the operation of the rig on the highway. Mounted, the tipper adds approximately 4,000 pounds to the truck. One tipper at a receiving yard can dump several trailers per hour.
