Lokotrack crusher features Barmac VSI on board
At ConExpo earlier this year Metso launched their new LT7150 crushing plant with Barmac VSI on board. The Lokotrack LT7150 mobile VSI plant is designed for final stage crushing for producing high-quality cubical aggregate, road base and prime manufactured sand.

The Lokotrack LT7150’s key features include proven, cost effective and reliable operation, easy use thanks to advanced crusher automation, and the option of using the unit seamlessly as part of a two or three-stage Lokotrack crushing and screening process. The new VSI-Lokotrack is built around the proven Barmac B-Series vertical shaft impactor, featuring a rock-on-rock crushing action. This crusher allows quick and easy operation and service, the option of step-less control of product grading, and the production of high-quality cubical end products.

The Barmac VSI’s 840 DTR rotor accepts feed sizes up to 2.6 inches (66 mm), accelerates material and continuously discharges into the crushing chamber. Its particle exit velocities range between 150 to 245 feet/second (45 to 75 m/s) and the crusher runs on a direct hydraulic motor, eliminating the need for V-belts and enabling a fully adjustable tip speed using the automated control panel.

The feed from the rotor and the cascading material recombine using the rock-on-rock action into a continuous cloud of airborne particles moving around the crusher. Excess material is prevented from flowing through the rotor overflows via the cascade ports.

The LT7150 is fitted with a metal detector and can be fed by conveyor, excavator or wheel loader thanks to the large, 6.5 yd³ (5 m³) feed hopper, while the sturdy belt feeder (6,000 mm by 1,000 mm) in size, takes the feed to the crusher. Additionally, an efficient 415-hp (310 kW) environmentally-friendly Cat C13 diesel motor powers the Lokotrack LT7150, meeting Tier 3 emission requirements, and the user-friendly IC400 process automation system features complete automatic crushing process controls, single-button process start up and advanced fault diagnostics.

The LT7150 weighs 66,100 pounds (30,000 kg), and its transport width is 10 feet (3,000 mm) and height is 11 feet two inches (3,400 mm).
