Plastic containers fitted with durable casters
Recuperation Cascades is a subsidiary of Cascades Paper Group in Quebec that needed to collect waste paper from its customers for recycling in a more efficient way. Buckhorn Canada was able to help by fitting heavy-duty casters to the base of their extended-length bulk boxes. This created a mobile container with a bigger capacity than previously available and which is easy to move. Cascades’ customers can fill the boxes and move them easily to the loading dock for pickup. A side-benefit is that fewer pickups are required, resulting in important savings in labour, transport and fuel costs, which also means generating fewer CO2 emissions.

Extremely robust, these boxes are manufactured from structural-foam plastic molding with continuous reinforcing ribs. They have a one-piece molded base for maximum load stability and hold up to 2,000 pounds (910 kg). Drop-door options make it easy to load and unload the boxes, and steel corner hit-plates provide added protection.

Additionally, wall panels snap in place with no hinge pins, which makes maintenance quick and easy. At the end of the boxes’ lives, Buckhorn accepts them back for recycling, and the durable swivel casters are fully serviceable and easy to replace.

Extended-length bulk boxes are available up to 70 inches (1,780 mm) long with a standard width of 48 inches (1,200 mm). They come in heights from 25 inches to 50 inches (635 mm to 1,270 mm) and are great for shipping and protecting all long loads.
