Mega-Batch Feeder introduced

The US Shredder and Castings Group announced recently that it has designed and supplied their heaviest batch feeder to date for the scrap and shredder industry. According to company president Bill Tigner, “The durability and design of the feeder literally makes it unparalleled in similar equipment that is supplied to the scrap industry.” The Mega-Batch Feeder was originally designed for an installation that processes mined auto shred fluff, and will accept full loads of material directly from a dump truck. Units are eight feet wide and built from 20 feet and longer lengths, with a 48 cubic yard hopper. Feed rates can be adjusted from five feet per minute to 150 feet per minute, and units use a proprietary sealed belt capable of handling shred, ASR, and waste products. A “kick back” drum is used for proper metering of material, and the feeder comes equipped with motor, power pack and electrical controls.
