About Rawlings Manufacturing

The Rawlings family know the meaning of hard work. The family business started out as a small Sawmill Construction and Consulting company in 1976.  While growing a successful business and reputation within the forest industry they raised their three sons, John, Craig and Mike, in and around sawmills working and learning the industry inside-out from the bottom-up.

As a proven leader in size reduction equipment we are assisting our customers in utilizing renewable resources while reducing and recycling a wide variety of wood waste into marketable products. Rawlings Wood Grinders process the following: logs and log ends, wood and bark, biomass feed stock, C & D debris, chip overs, lily pads, log yard waste, green waste, urban wood waste, food waste, forest residuals, green waste, LVL/plywood trim, pallets/crating and packaging waste, railroad ties, slab wood, stringy bark and trim ends and edgings.

Whether you are replacing your existing machines or any part of it, you should contact our service department, RocWear Solutions. Our large inventory includes grate liners, bearings, pillow blocks, locking assemblies, tips, hammers, and screens for your Horizontal and Vertical Wood grinders. We strive to give you the highest quality at a low, low price.

Any part can be custom designed to meet your requirements of increased wear, maximum throughput, and increased density. Our engineering staff utilizes all modern CAD engineering stations with the latest software to design fabrications.

Rawlings also provides spare parts for used wood hogs built more than 30 years ago. In an industry that demands so much from its equipment, it is virtually impossible to find equipment that lasts this long and is supported so well. We understand that when your equipment goes down, it does not just cost you time, it costs you money.

Super XI Hi-Inertia VRM

Super XI Hi-Inertia VRM

Introducing the VRM Super Hi Inertia Vertical Wood Hog, from Rawlings Manufacturing Inc. No cookie cutter machine can meet everyone's space constraints or challenges. We have had several customers over the years that wanted a Rawlings Solid Rotary Hog but did not have the overhead clearance in their existing footprint to allow for a clamshell opening type of machine. The VRM hog opens hydraulically from the rear of the machine allowing full access to the hog's internal wear components and rotor for ease of maintenance.

All Rawlings Hogs are equipped with our Patented Super Hi-Inertia Rotor that powers through feed surges with ease while still running at lower RPMs than all other machines on the market. This saves our customers both maintenance and electricity costs.

Features:

  • Opens hydraulically from the rear of the machine allowing full access to the hog's internal wear components and rotor for ease of maintenance
  • Super Hi-Inertia Rotor supplies massive kinetic energy to power through the largest feed surges.
  • With increased inertia of the Rawlings Super Hi-Inertia Solid Steel Rotor our machine runs at 565 RPM'S resulting in overall savings of electricity and maintenance costs
  • Lowest energy consumption of any wood grinder available on the market
  • The Rawlings Super Hi-Inertia Hog provides the crushing and shearing power needed to handle really tough jobs like green waste, cypress, redwood, cedar, black spruce, poplar and a wide range of other stringy and fibrous materials
  • Tolerant of contaminants, rocks and metal without catastrophic maintenance costs if metal enters the grinding chamber
  • Our machines are designed to operate 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Quality grind - Consistent product
  • Bottom line productivity, reliability, with the lowest maintenance costs per ton of material processed.
  • Proven track records in some of the toughest applications that exist
