Exodus Machines names new VP of finance and human resources

Carlos Monreal of Plastics Energy first president of Chemical Recycling Europe

At the end of January Chemical Recycling Europe was created as a non-profit organization with the vision of establishing an industry platform for developing and promoting cutting-edge chemical recycling technologies for polymer waste across Europe. The new association aims to deepen collaboration with EU Institutions and develop positive industry-wide relationships throughout the whole chemical recycling value chains in Europe in order to boost specific polymer recycling. According to the new organization, chemical recycling of polymers in Europe will need to develop in order to reach the high level of expectations from the EU politicians.

Metso Waste Recycling strengthens sales in North America

Lou brings with him significant experience and a proven track record from the solid waste market, including 6 years with Van Dyk Recycling Solutions. "With Van Dyk Recycling Solutions Lou successfully developed and led a North American solutions initiative for processing and treating a new waste stream for glass.

​TOMRA SORTING RECYCLING appoints Rick Fenton as sales manager, East Coast North America

TOMRA Sorting Recycling, the global leading supplier of sensor-based sorting equipment, announces the appointment of Rick Fenton as Sales Manager, East Coast North America. In his new position, Fenton will assume the lead role to further develop and implement TOMRA Recycling Americas' short- and long-term sales strategies as well as work directly with TOMRA partners and customers. 

​ISRI elects new slate of national officers

During its 2018 convention and exposition, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) elected four new national officers who will lead the association and industry over the next two years. In addition, the ISRI Board of Directors elected four directors-at-large and one associate director. Heading up the new team of leaders is Chair Brian Shine of Manitoba Corp. (Buffalo, NY).

Ecore CEO Dodge named ISRI Director, Tire Chapter Chairman

Arthur Dodge, III, CEO and President of Ecore International, has been elected Director of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) and Chairman of the ISRI's Tire Chapter. ISRI, as a non-profit trade association consisting of more than 1,600 private and public for-profit companies, promotes public awareness of the value and importance of recycling in the production of goods and services worldwide.

​SCS Engineers promotes Vita Quinn as national expert on solid waste finance and rate studies

SCS Engineers recently named Vita Quinn, MBA as their National Expert on Solid Waste Finance and Rate Studies. Ms. Quinn came to SCS with 12 years of experience as a financial analyst and management consultant. She works out of Jacksonville, Florida leading the national economic integration team at the firm.

Martin Weissburg appointed President of Mack Trucks

Martin Weissburg, currently President of Volvo Construction Equipment, will become President of Mack Trucks effective June 1, 2018, in which capacity he will continue to be a member of the Executive Board for the Volvo Group. Martin Weissburg was born in 1962, and has served as President of Volvo Construction Equipment since 2014. He joined the Volvo Group in 2005 as President of Volvo Financial Services Americas, and in 2010 became global President of Volvo Financial Services. He will be headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA.

Chris Hawn appointed as CEO of Machinex US division

Mr. Pierre Paré, Chairman and President of Machinex Group of companies, has announced the nomination of Chris Hawn as the CEO of Machinex Technologies Inc., the US division of the group. Mr. Chris Hawn, who has worked at Machinex since 2010, started as the North American Sales Director and was appointed to Executive Vice-President Sales & Business Development in May 2016. Over the years, Mr. Hawn helped broaden sales and business development in the North American market for the company. In his new position, he will continue to ensure this role by growing the sales team while also being in charge of developing alternative markets and ensure a stronger presence on the North American territory.

​Marjie Griek Announced as National Recycling Coalition Executive Director

Minneapolis, MN - On behalf of the National Recycling Coalition (NRC) Board of Directors, and during its 40-year anniversary year, NRC President Bob Gedert today announced the hiring of Marjie Griek as the new NRC Executive Director. "We are extremely grateful for the astounding pool of professionals that applied for this position, and are very excited to present Marjie in this new role. I'm more than confident that with Marjie's credentials and experience she'll successfully help lead the Coalition toward its next and successful 40 years," Gedert said. He reported on Griek's new role at the NRC's Annual Membership Meeting held at the Resource Recycling Conference yesterday.

During Reardon's decade long career with BHS he has served as BHS' Director of Sales and Marketing and most recently as Southwest Regional Sales Manager and Plastics Market Specialist. In his new role, Reardon will lead the company's Max-AI-related business development and Max autonomous system integration.

Enerkem appoints Dominique Boies as executive VP and CFO

With over 20 years of experience in corporate and financial strategy, investment banking and operations, Mr. Boies brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Enerkem. Prior to joining Enerkem, he was Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer at RONA where he was responsible for the financial and corporate strategy, investor relations, accounting, financing, treasury and legal affairs. At RONA, he led the company’s turnaround as well as the transaction that resulted in the acquisition of RONA by Lowe’s valued at C$3.2 billion. Prior to this, Mr. Boies held various senior executive positions at RBC Royal Bank and at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), one of the largest institutional fund managers in North America.

Wastequip names new Chief Financial Officer

Wastequip, a leading North American manufacturer of waste and recycling equipment, has named Steve Klueg as chief financial officer. Steve Klueg will replace the current CFO, Steve Svetik, who announced his retirement from Wastequip earlier this year. Steve Klueg brings more than 25 years of financial leadership expertise, with an emphasis on manufacturing organizations, to his new role. He previously served as CFO for two corporations, The Affinia Group and Recommunity Recycling, where he led financial strategy and planning, financial reporting, auditing, forecasting, pricing initiatives and business development to increase profitability and strengthen accountability. During that time, he also played a key role in conducting corporate development initiatives for sales acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to his time as a CFO, Steve served as a treasurer, controller and held various positions in accounting, corporate development and financial planning and analysis. Steve, who is a certified public accountant, holds an MBA from Ohio State University.

Two SWANA leaders have been appointed to two-year terms on a key trade advisory committee. The Solid Waste Association of North America’s (SWANA) Executive Director and CEO, David Biderman, and past-president, Michelle Leonard, were appointed to the Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee (ETTAC), an advisory group to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. Biderman and Leonard were appointed by Penny Pritzker, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, on October 12, 2016.

Morbark appoints David Herr new CEO
