BINS WITH WALKING FLOORS

BINS WITH WALKING FLOORS
Many recycling facilities are realizing the benefits of implementing KEITH WALKING FLOOR technology in a variety of areas. These range from the tipping floor to sort bins. Conveying speeds can be regulated, enabling the WALKING FLOOR systems to easily integrate with existing equipment.

After recyclables are removed from the waste stream, materials are often collected in sort bins located directly below the picking line. Installing WALKING FLOOR systems into these bins automates the conveying process, freeing loading equipment to operate elsewhere in the MRF or even allowing for the reduction in the rolling stock fleet.

Bins equipped with WALKING FLOOR unloaders, used in conjunction with traditional conveying systems such as belt conveyors, provide multiple options for storing, routing and sorting incoming materials. A touch of a button is all it takes to unload tons of material onto the take-away conveyor, where it will be delivered to a baler or other processing equipment.

Overloading belt conveyors is a common problem when using front-end loaders. Operators have minimal control over how much material is pushed out of the sort bin and onto the take-away conveyor, which can lead to costly repairs and downtime. WALKING FLOOR systems gently meter material forward, avoiding overloads.

WALKING FLOOR technology is a hydraulically driven, moving floor conveyor. Floor slats extend the length of the bin. While in motion, the slats convey the material. Mobile systems are also available to transport and automatically unload materials.
