​Schnitzer rents to purchase LEFORT .SB 660A towable shear/baler/logger

Schnitzer Steel, the globally renowned collector, processor and seller of steel, has recently rented to purchase a LEFORT .SB 660A Towable shear/baler/logger.  The LEFORT .SB 660A Towable, part of LEFORT America’ s newest product line covering the scrap metal recycling market, will be put to work at Schnitzer’ multiple locations in Puerto Rico. Experts in various types of recycling, from auto to metal, Schnitzer chose the LEFORT .SB 660A Towable for its mobility and its high production capabilities which will greatly improve their operations at Salinas, Bayamon and Ponce, respectively.

“This machine is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.  The computer and sensor systems are the best out there”, said one of the technicians present at the installation that took place February 1st.  Two LEFORT America technicians were present during commissioning of the LEFORT .SB 660A Towable, and trained the yard’s operators on proper machine use and maintenance.  This way LEFORT America ensures that Schnitzer’s multiple yards can use the LEFORT .SB 660A Towable to its maximum potential.

LEFORT America’s recent partnership with Caterpillar Inc. facilitated the commissioning by extending help through their local Puerto Rico dealer, Rimco CAT.  Assisted by Rimco, the process was a breeze.
