ABN Amro Participaties acquires majority interest in Bollegraaf Recycling Solutions

Partially with a view to director and owner Heiman S. Bollegraaf reaching retirement age, ABN Amro Participaties has acquired a majority interest in Netherlands-based Bollegraaf Holding Appingedam BV, top holding company of the Bollegraaf Recycling Solutions Group.

The takeover was completed on Wednesday 18 November 2015. The new shareholders have stated they intend to strengthen the position of the Bollegraaf Recycling Solution Group and to promote further growth.

As a result of the transaction, Mr Bollegraaf has stepped down as managing director of the Group. He is succeeded by Edmund Tenfelde. During the past few months, Mr Tenfelde already operated as interim director of the Group from Boer & Croon Executive Management and he fulfilled many CFO/Executive Board positions before that at Riwal Holding Group BV, VolkerWessels, DSM, KPN Mobile Satellite Communication and Stork Industry Services, among others.

Mr Bollegraaf will remain affiliated to the business as Business Development Director and he will focus on product development and expanding the international client network of family businesses.

Bollegraaf was incorporated in 1961, as Machinefabriek en Plaatsnijbedrijf H. Bollegraaf. Incorporator Hartog Bollegraaf started out with the production of vertical balers. The quality and durability of the balers underwent a development - from vertical, to semi-automatic to the current fully automatic bale press with pre-pressing hatch. The 100% Dutch company became a multinational business. In 1989, Heiman Bollegraaf took over the company from his father Hartog Bollegraaf. Under his management, Bollegraaf developed into a top global player in the fields of recycling and waste-processing equipment and entire recycling plants. Lubo Systems in Emmen has been part of the Group for more than 14 years, and mainly focuses on the design and development of innovative sorting and recycling plants and screening products.

Bollegraaf Recycling Solutions Group operates around the world and has branches and representatives in most European countries, Australia, Asia and USA. Bollegraaf Recycling Solutions will continue to do business with its distributor for the American market, Van Dyk Baler Corp.

In Appingedam, where it employs more than 200 staff, Bollegraaf designs and produces turnkey solutions, sorting systems, balers, shredders and entire recycling solutions for the processing of paper, domestic, industrial and construction and demolition waste.
