Recleim Begins Exclusive Recycling Services Deal with BSH Home Appliances

Recycler will process appliances at BSH’s East Coast and Midwest distribution facilities

Recleim LLC, a provider of next-generation appliance recycling services, announced this summer that it will now serve as the exclusive recycling services provider for BSH Home Appliances Corporation (BSH) products at its East Coast and Midwest distribution centers. BSH, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Bosch and Siemens Hausgerate GmbH, manufactures and markets small and major home appliances under the Bosch, Thermador and Gaggenau brands throughout North America.

Recleim uses state-of-the-art, exclusively licensed technology to recover 95 percent of an appliance’s components by weight. Commodities such as plastic, aluminum, copper, steel and pelletized foam are then sold for reuse in other products. Recleim’s rigorous recycling standards also ensure that emissions of ozone-depleting substances – such as chlorofluorocarbons – are minimized.

“BSH Home Appliances is fully committed to reducing its environmental impact wherever possible,” said Michael Traub, president and CEO of BSH. “We are honored to partner with Recleim as its innovative approach and advanced technologies align with our rigorous quality standards for responsible recycling.”

Recleim recently unveiled its 110,000-square-foot flagship recycling center in Graniteville, S.C. The facility can process more than 60 million pounds of appliances annually.

“By partnering with Recleim, BSH Home Appliances is embracing the highest recycling standards,” said Doug Huffer, general manager of Recleim. “Home appliances pose a real danger to the environment when companies without proper technology or controls attempt to recycle them. At Recleim, we have both and are strongly committed to recycling the right way.”
