Enhanced drum on the Sittler 512 windrow turner

Enhanced drum on the Sittler 512 windrow turner

The new Sittler 512 windrow turner features an enhanced drum design that improves performance. The new larger drum, with shorter, wider, reversible blades provides very efficient clean-up to the bottom of the windrow, preventing anaerobic layers from accumulating. Improved turning fortifies the movement of organic matter, intensifying aeration, and with greater turning capacity, the 512 is able to tackle more densely packed areas in the windrow. The unit’s enhanced turning motion also creates a sharper peak with improved CO2 / Oxygen flow.

According to Global Repair, who handles the marketing for Sittler Manufacturing,  the enhanced drum on the Sittler 512 was a result of positive client feedback from Sittler’s model 1014 turner performance. The change allows operators the opportunity to have similar performance to the larger 1014 model with a unit suited to lesser volume. Global Repair also says operators describe an easier turn, with less tractor resistance and engine stress, and the ability to move compost more thoroughly, forming a sharper peaked windrow that breaks down more efficiently.
