Purpose-built shingle grinder

Latest in CBI's Magnum Force Series

Purpose-built shingle grinder

At ConExpo-Con/Ag which was held at the end of March in Las Vegas, CBI unveiled its newest Magnum Force Series Grinder – the Shingle Pro XL 406.

Ideal for asphalt shingles, the Shingle Pro XL 406 design features also make it well suited for high-volume reprocessing of all types of material into a small uniform end product. This includes wood and bark for regrind into high quality mulch, or any other feed stock that requires regrinding such as pellet feed stock, pulverized fuel or waste material.

Designed for single-pass processing to a finished end product, the Shingle Pro XL 406 offers very high throughput and low cost per ton. It comes with a powerful CAT C27, 1050-hp electric start engine and a unique hog box design, which allows the upper hog box and bonnet assembly to hydraulically lift to expose the rotor and grates for safer and easier maintenance.

These units also feature: a heavy-duty reinforced housing with replaceable wear liners; a rugged forged rotor with heavy-duty hammers and tips that are easy and cost effective to maintain; an integrated water spray system designed to control dust more efficiently in the grinding chamber (also doubles as a colour injection system for mulch processing); a completely enclosed discharge conveyor for added dust control; and a unique engine cooling system that prevents radiator clogging.

The optional CBI Magnum Overband Magnet features an extra strong permanent magnet enclosed in a special stainless steel frame, which allows for the most effective removal of metal as well as maximum performance.
